All Male Choir Ministry

Our mission is to praise God and spread His love, preaching, and wisdom through music and spiritual and servant leadership. We strive to express the love of God and His gift of eternal life through spiritual guidance and music. Our goal is to have a full group in the future, loving each other as Brothers, and singing for the Lord.

Brotherhood Ministry

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another". Proverbs 27:17 The mission of the Brotherhood Ministry is to equip men to serve in: spiritual growth, Christian manhood, outreach ministry and fellowship. We strive to be our brother's keeper, mentoring to young men in our church and community and demonstrating our commitment to the tenants of brotherhood. Through Bible studies, personal accountability, and social events, we spread the word of Jesus Christ to all men. This ministry is about developing meaningful relationships between men that will strengthen families, communities, and our church congregation.

B. Savage Outreach Ministry

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself". Matthew 22:39 (KJV) The purpose of the B. Savage Outreach Ministry is led by the vision of the Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church to build better lives to aide and assist those outside the walls of our church with the message and love of Jesus.

Our core goals are:

  • Back Packs of Love: weekly back pack program that provides food to elementary school children in Union County School District through partnerships with Second Harvest Food Bank as well as other community resources.
  • Model Christ's concern for people in our community and assist with the needs and concerns of beyond our congregation through compassion and advocacy.

Children Church

The goal of Children Church is to create an engaging and spiritual environment in order to teach, train, and equip children with the Word of God so that they might grow in their own spiritual walk thus enabling them to share their love of Christ with others.

Goals

  • Purchase technology to enhance the learning experience in Children's Church (i.e. ipads)
  • Perform a community outreach project (i.e. Operation Christmas Child/Adopt a Family).

Christian Education Ministry

Christian Education is the ministry that brings all of the other ministriestogether to meet the overall mission of the church. The overall purpose of the Christian Education Ministry is to provide, develop and promote programs that equip individuals for discipleship. The scripture, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world". (Matthew 28:19-20) is the overall basis for establishing this Christian Ministry. The overall ministry is based on individual and group development from a spiritual, service, and educational perspective.The primary focus is to educate and strengthen the congregation to all aspects of being servant leaders.

Goals

  1. Provide structure for training for all of the church's outreach and ministries church.
  2. Define the procedures for defining Christian Education and assist in organizing the church's ministries.
  3. Establish church plans and prepare programs/services/ministries that minister to the need of the church congregation and community.

Culinary Ministry

"He also gave bread to those who were with Him". Mark 2:26 The mission of the Culinary Ministry is to oversee the operations, cleanliness, and maintenance of the church kitchen and social hall, The Culinary Ministry provides food for all church related events with other ministries within the church.

Deacon Ministry

The mission of the deacon's ministry is to work closely with all other ministries to meet the congregational needs of the Church and the community served. Our mission and duties include working with the pastor to insure the spiritual and financial well-being of the Church. As deacons we are committed to visit the sick and needy members of our congregation and provide spiritual counseling and prayers. Deacons of the Church must be ordained to provide spiritual leadership and service to the Church. In 1 Timothy 3:10, when referring to the qualifications of deacons, Paul urges, "they first must be tested". Goals

  1. Each Deacon will visit each assigned parishioner when hospitalized or homebound.
  2. Work to increase the working capital for the Church's operations.

Deaconess Ministry

The mission of the Deaconess' Ministry is to support the Ministers, Deacons, Trustees and other Church leaders in carrying out the Lord's Will and Teachings. We work in cooperation to prepare and serve the doctrine of faith experiences of the Lord's Supper, Baptism, the Right Hand of Fellowship and other worship needs.

Finance Ministry

The purpose of the Finance Ministry is to oversee the financial matters of the church and to keep the congregation informed of its finances. Our goal is to be good stewards of the congregation's gifts to God, and to encourage stewardship in all areas of ministry and missions.

Goals

  1. Purchase accounting software to better manage the financial process
  2. To implement a document retention system for expenses
  3. To meet quarterly to discuss the financial health of the church

Healthy Living Ministry

"Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and your spirit, which are God's". 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 (KJV) The purpose of the Healthy Living Ministry is led by the vision of Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church to build better lives through health education, prevention, and awareness.

Our core goals:

  • Promote healthy and active living in our community of faith by being an example and taking an active role in managing our health and modifying our behaviors to live longer and prosperously.
  • Empower our community by increasing awareness of health issues that are prevalent by providing resources, information, health fairs, or other programs to heighten understanding and knowledge.

Hospitality Ministry

The mission of the Hospitality Ministry is to provide a welcoming environment of love through the church. Our purpose is to provide service that reflects the love of Christ through expressions of gratitude, excitement, and passion.

Goals:

  • To create an inviting environment during services and special events that is:
      1. Welcoming
      2. Hospitable
      3. Friendly
      4. Structured
      5. Orderly
  • To create a sense of belonging by making sure every visitor, member, and guest feel special and welcome in our church.
  • To decrease the amount of stress, anxiety, fear, and confusion for our visitors, and guests through resources such as:
      1. Greeter and Ushers
      2. Welcome/Visitor packages
      3. Visitor Cards
  • To encourage a smooth transition from being a visitor to becoming a member.

L.OV.E. Ministry

The mission of the LOVE Ministry is developing young women to make a difference in their church, homes, community, in the market place and the world.

Goals:

  • Promote and teach Christian values to grow our young women spiritually by incorporating devotional time into each meeting.
  • Perform at least one outreach project in the community (i.e. a clothing giveaway).
  • Send cards or letters monthly to a sick and shut in member.

Membership Ministry

Members: Barbara McClurkin, Vivian Graham, and Peggy Landrum The purpose of the Membership Ministry is to:
  • Welcome new members and restored members into the fellowship.
  • Send out letters to new members.
  • Keep track of attendance
  • Make sure that new members get involved in a ministry in the church.
  • Keep track of number of members who join monthly, yearly to include:
      1. number of members actively serving in a ministry
      2. number of members attending Sunday School and Bible Study
      3. number of members attending worship service
      4. number of youth active in church

Membership Ministry Goals

  • Conduct outreach of members who are currently not active in church. Reach out via phone calls, letters, email, instant message
  • Prepare an address, phone, and email directory
  • Connect new members with assigned Deacons for outreach and continue to:
      1. Send birthday cards
      2. Send flowers to those who are hospitalized
      3. Reach out to members away at college
      4. Reach out to members who are in the military
      5. Assist members with job connections, resumes, etc.
  • Create a new member's package to include: bible, church by-laws, and list of ministries.

Missionary Ministry

The mission of the Missionary Ministry is to assist in the teaching, training, and equipping of women to become more effective in the ministry they have to their families, the Church, and the greater community. We strive to develop a sense of unity and purpose through prayer, God's truth, encouragement, outreach, social events, and personal mentoring relationships. Also, we strive for sisterhood that is based on a sense of who we are in Christ.

Music Ministry / Voices of Praise

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and Hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord". Colossians 3:16 The mission of the Music Ministry is to create a Christian environment that is conducive for worship and praising through music. The music ministry supports Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church and our pastor by:
  • Leading the congregation in praises during devotion and worship service.
  • Accompanying the pastor on pastoral engagements and representing Wyatt's at other churches or programs.
  • Performing at church sponsored functions representing Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church in revivals, concerts, funerals, anniversaries, and other programs.

Nursery Ministry

"Train up a child in the way it should go and when it is old, he won't depart from it". Proverbs 22:6 The mission of the Nursery Mission is to provide a safe, clean, loving and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers while their parents attend church. Our goal is to insure that our children receive quality attention and care in a structured setting while upholding the basic foundation of Christian love.

Pastor's Aide Ministry

The purpose of the Pastor's Aide Ministry is to provide service and support to the Pastor, First family, and associate ministers, ensuring that they are fully equipped, prepared, and able to fulfill the responsibilities in leading the congregation. The ministry will assist the pastor in whatever he may need to best meet the goals for serving the church.

Goals

  1. Plan and organize the Pastoral Anniversary program
  2. Sponsor 2 small group outings within the ministry to help build loving relationships
  3. Collaborate with the Evangelism ministry or Sister Robyn with community outreach
  4. Grow the ministry by at least 2 new members

Praise Dance Ministry

The mission of the Praise Dance Ministry is to use dance and self-expression as a tool of praise and worship to the honor, edification and glorification of God. Being led by the Spirit of God, the Praise Dance Ministry seeks to inspire, bless, glorify, and reveal the awesome powers of God's anointing through dance.

Goals

  • To worship and praise God though our creative dance and expressions.
  • To lead people into God's presence through praise and dance.
  • To create a worship setting that is conducive prior to receiving the Word.

Prayer Warrior Ministry

PRAYER WARRIOR MINISTRY The mission of the Prayer Warrior Ministry is to meet the spiritual needs of the members of Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church, the church community, individual prayer requests, and to teach the fundamentals of how to effectively pray.

Seniors with a Purpose (S.W.A.P) Ministry

The mission of the SWAP Ministry is to encourage each other to show love and do great deeds. (Hebrews 10: 24.

Our goals are:

  • To become an active and viable ministry for senior adults.
  • To encourage and show support for our college student and members in the military by sending letters, cards, texts, emails, or phone calls.

Sympathy Club Ministry

The Sympathy Club Ministry strives to meet the spiritual and emotional support and needs of Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church members and their families during illnesses and deaths by providing comfort, care, support and spiritual guidance. Our primary goal is to make an effort to support and console the congregation with a spirit of compassion concerning their needs.

Transportation Ministry

Van Drivers: Ernestine Falls, Elaine Peake,

The Transportation Ministry is an outreach ministry that provides reliable transportation to those residents in Union and Spartanburg counties who wish to attend church but do not have transportation. With a cheerful and humble attitude we will provide the needed accommodation in getting our faithful members to our worship services and other church related activities and events.

Trustee Ministry

As stewards for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Trustee Ministry works with the Pastor, Deacons, and church congregation to promote church maintenance and growth, commit to tithing, accept project assignments, and manage the budget, ground and buildings of Wyatt's Chapel Baptist Church.

Usher Ministry

"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness". Psalms 84:10. The mission of the Ushers Ministry is to provide better service to God and His people by being ready and willing to serve, being kind and courteous at all times, and leading spiritual dignity to the whole church service. The Ushers Ministry strives to serve the Church by keeping order in the Church and protect the santaucy of the services. Our goal is to enable each member and guest to have a comfortable, distraction-free worship experience where they can learn and commune with God.

Video Ministry

"So this faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God". Roman 10:17. Our mission is to provide to spread the gospel by providing quality audio and video recordings of weekly services and programs to the congregation and public. Through our ministry:
  • Church members and the public can witness the words and songs of the service, thus allowing the Holy Spirit to do its Will. Church members who cannot attend Church can stay involved by this ministry.
  • The "unchurched" can have Church brought to them.
  • The recordings can provide words of encouragement and praise at any time or place.

Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry's focus is bringing women together to discuss everyday life and things that a woman may have to endure, whether it is parenthood, domestic violence, substance abuse, verbal abuse, etc. We gather to uplift and encourage one another. For it says in Galatians 6:2 "Bear one another's burden and fulfill the law of Christ". This means if one is suffering we all suffer in Christ, therefore, we should hold each other up in love and kindness.

Goals:

  • Provide insight on domestic violence, verbal abuse, substance abuse, etc.
  • Encourage each other and remind each other that you're not alone.

Youth Ministry

The mission of Wyatt's Chapel Youth Ministry is to establish a foundation for building Christian character, morals, values and behaviors in young people by using creative and innovative methods to excite, inspire, capture and ignite young people for Jesus. Our goal is to enable young people to understand and recognize who Jesus is and what it is to live for Him only. Our vision is to respond to the social and spiritual needs of the youth within our church and community by providing relative programs, activities, and events that will allow them to build a strong foundation of faith that will enable them to express and share their faith through their own words, actions and deeds; to encourage them to use their individual talents in programs and ministries that interest them in order to nurture their growth as people of faith while providing volunteer services to the community.

Goals and Objectives

  • To provide a common forum for youth and young adults where they can express themselves as young Christians.
  • To provide avenues and direction for a fuller and deeper spiritual growth.
  • To assist in developing a positive self-image as a Christian within a modern society, as we relate to Christ.
  • To help form a sense of stewardship and community in our youth within their church communities.
  • To encourage our youth in regular church attendance and participation.
  • To provide opportunities where the youth leaders can initiate coordinate and direct religious, social, educational and humanitarian programs designed to foster our Christian Faith.
  • To offer opportunities for social activities which cultivate compassion and empathy as well as meaningful inter-group relationships.
  • To coordinate regional/national activities which promote a connection within the youth and young adults of the same faith in the Caribbean.
  • To guide youth and young adults through the obstacles of modern society.
